London’s Hamiltons Gallery celebrates the legendary photographer Don McCullin with a presentation of rare and unseen works, showing from 30 January to 26 April 2019.
From 30 January to 26 April 2019, London’s Hamiltons Gallery presents the exhibition ‘Proximity’ with works by the British photojournalist Sir Don McCullin. The showcase, which partially coincides with a major retrospective of his oeuvre at the Tate Britain, comprises rare and unseen vintage prints from the photographer’s private archives – with many of them dating back to the beginning of his career in the 1950s. Intimate and understated, the selected prints are vivid testimonies to the events McCullins documented in war and crisis zones around the world.

Don McCullin was born in London in 1935. His work has been honoured with numerous prestigious prizes, including the World Press Photo Award and the Cornell Capa Award.
