The Leica Women Foto Project is an annual contest designed promote diversity and female perspectives in photography. Each of the three winners receives a $10,000 grant for the completion of a personal project, along with the use of a Leica Q2 for a one-year period.

The winners of the second Leica Women Foto Project are Anna Boyiazis, Karen Zusman, and Matika Wilbur. The series ‘Finding Freedom in the Water’, created in Zanzibar by Anna Boyiazis, accompanies girls and women learning to swim. Matika Wilbur’s ‘Project 562’ is dedicated to photographing over 562 federally recognised tribes in the United States. Karen Zusman’s portrait series ‘The Super Power of Me’ celebrates young girls of colour, and shows who they are before the world starts to diminish their sense of self.
