Leica CL silver

At this year’s Photokina expo in Cologne, Leica Camera announced the release of a silver-finish Leica CL which is set to be available alongside the existing, matte-black model. The new edition is distinguished by a silver-anodised top and base plate, and will be complemented by an optional silver thumb rest for improved handleability.

The announcement serves to confirm Leica’s ongoing commitment to their product range of compact APS-C cameras. The CL-models’ L bayonet mount is compatible with all TL2 and SL lenses, as well as (via adaptor) with the entire lens portfolios of the M and R system. Furthermore, Leica have recently entered into an ‘L-Mount Alliance’ with Panasonic and Sigma, which will extend the availability of compatible lenses beyond the Leica brand and provide photographers with an even wider scope of options and creative possibilities.
