La Gacilly Photo Festival

May 14, 2021

From June to September 2021, the French village of La Gacilly celebrates the medium of photography with numerous outdoor exhibitions.
A small village in Brittany serves as the backdrop for France’s largest open air photo festival: from June to September 2021, hundreds of large-scale prints will once again be showcased on the facades of La Gacilly’s stone buildings – transforming the picturesque village into an exciting art space that is freely accessible to all.

Established in 2004, the La Gacilly Photo Festival presents an annual display of around 30 outdoor exhibitions, with a particular focus on the relationship between mankind and the natural world. Under the headline of ‘Plein Nord’, this year’s edition shines a light on North-European photography. The multi-faceted selection ranges from artists such as Helena Blomqvist to Ragnar Axelsson, Tiina Itkonen and Jonas Bendiksen. Visitors will also encounter stunning works by Florence Goupil, Mathias Depardon, Olivier Morin, Ulla Lohmann, and Nick Brandt.
