With the exhibition ‘Time Loops’, open until March 3, 2023, Berlin’s Haus am Kleistpark presents a profound exploration of the magnificence, and the destruction of the natural world.

Annett Stuth’s collages and décollages feature animals, plants, as well as physical objects such as remainders of the recent and prehistoric past. The German artist not only shines a light on our depictions of nature (both in terms of their origins and construction), but also questions humanity’s overall relationship to our natural environment.

Their oscillating spectrum of exoticism, fascination and unease makes the resulting images all the more compelling: through the creative interplay between collage and décollage, Stuth opens up new perspectives in which the chronology and causality of events has been suspended, while recurrent interconnections – or time loops – are made visible.
