Terms of Use for the Leica Store Gallery
The terms of use of the LFI Gallery apply as a general rule, which can be accessed here: LFI | TERMS AND CONDITIONS, with the provision that the rights and authorities granted to LFI Photographie GmbH in clauses 2.5 and 2.6 are also granted to Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH, as the operator of the Leica Stores in Hamburg, Nuremberg, Munich, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart, as well as to Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH, as the operator of the Leica Store Wetzlar. In addition, the following applies:
1. Access to Leica Store Gallery
1.1. The Leica Store Gallery is offered exclusively by LFI Photographie GmbH to customers of the participating German Leica Stores. In order to use the Leica Store Gallery, you must register and create a user account with LFI Photographie GmbH (if not already done) and enter a participation code provided by your respective Leica Store. If you already have a user account, please enter the received code under “My Account – Edit LFI Gallery.”
1.2. By registering, creating a user account with LFI Photographie GmbH, and entering the code provided by your Leica Store, you gain access to the gallery page of the specific Leica Store that issued your participation code.
1.3. You may upload a maximum of 10 images per day to the Leica Store Gallery.
2. Leica Store Gallery Competition Participation Conditions
2.1. The Leica Store Gallery competition is offered by Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH (Leica Store Galleries in Hamburg, Nuremberg, Munich, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart), Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH (Leica Store Gallery Wetzlar), in cooperation with LFI Photographie GmbH.
2.2. All natural persons aged 18 and over who have received a participation code from a Leica Store and registered in accordance with Section 1 are eligible to participate.
2.3. The images uploaded to the Leica Store Gallery participate in the Leica Store Gallery competition for the specific Leica Store for which you registered using the participation code. Please note that an upload limit (see Section 1.3) applies.
2.4. The submitted photograph must have been taken by the participant themselves. By submitting it, the participant confirms that they are the author of the photograph and that no third-party rights (especially of depicted persons) are infringed.
2.5. The competition is intended to run for an extended period but may be terminated at any time by Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH, Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH, or LFI Photographie GmbH.
2.6. As part of the aforementioned competition, the images you submit will be evaluated by LFI Photographie GmbH editors based on subjective and non-contestable criteria. A number of images selected from all submissions will be chosen weekly to be finalists for the “Picture of the Month.” A monthly winner will then be selected from all weekly finalists (“Picture of the Month”).
2.7. The weekly finalist images and the Pictures of the Month will be displayed in the Leica Store Gallery under the name (real name or artist name) you selected during registration. Please note that only the finalist images and the Pictures of the Month will be displayed in the Leica Store Gallery, not all uploaded images.
2.8. The respective Leica Store will be informed by LFI Photographie GmbH about the finalist images and Pictures of the Month. If you have given your consent, LFI Photographie GmbH will share your email address with Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH or Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH.
2.9. Legal recourse is excluded with respect to the competition.
3. Usage Rights
3.1. By submitting content and photographs to the servers of the LFI Gallery, you declare that you hold the usage rights to the submitted materials and photographs. At the same time, you grant LFI Photographie GmbH the usage rights defined in the usage rules of the LFI Gallery (Link to usage rules: LFI | TERMS AND CONDITIONS). Additionally, you grant Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH and Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH a simple, unlimited, global right to reproduce (digitally or physically), exhibit, distribute, and make publicly accessible the submitted digital photographs and content via their websites, on social media platforms such as but not limited to Facebook and Instagram, in newsletters, print media, and in Leica Galleries operated by Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH or Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH.
3.2. Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH and Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH are entitled to reasonably edit the submitted content and photographs, including cropping, compressing, converting into other file formats, or adapting to various formats and media (e.g., web, social media, print), while respecting the moral rights of the author. Distorting changes as defined in §14 UrhG are excluded.
3.3. This grant of rights is free of charge.
3.4. You may revoke the granted usage rights at any time. However, due to the nature of social networks (e.g., sharing, reposting, or third-party embedding), photographs and contributions may continue to be accessible on the internet even after revocation. Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH and Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH assume no responsibility or obligation for complete deletion of such third-party publications beyond their control. This applies in particular to reposts, quotes, shared content, or cached versions in search engines. For publications directly under the control of Leica Camera Deutschland GmbH or Leitz-Park Marketing GmbH, technical measures will be taken promptly to end further use. Even if a specific work is no longer directly retrievable, it may still appear in different contexts for up to 6 months.
