Tobias Schult trained as a photographer in his home city of Berlin, after spending several months in the US as an assistant to his cousin – a professional photographer with thirty years of experience in the field. Today, the married father-of-three has a studio in Berlin, and has been commissioned by companies such as Nike, ZDF and Mercedes. Tobias Schult is represented by the Hauser Fotografen agency.

In the dumps of Maputo

Tobias Schult

The largest garbage dump in Mozambique is located in Maputo, the country’s capital. For quite a number of people it is the centre of their world; they work there day by day, and, in some cases, even live there. Even though it is not accessible to the general public, Tobias Schult infiltrated the enormous dumping ground to document the lives of the people there.
