Introduced in 2010, the Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 Asph FLE is an optimised version of the popular wide-angle. The high-speed lens is ideally suited to Available Light photography, offering excellent image quality and contrast rendition.
The lens construction involves a floating element, which distinguishes the new Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 Asph FLE from its predecessors: during focusing, the group of elements located behind the aperture changes its position in relation to the front group – resulting in a significantly improved imaging performance.
In fact, in this particular focal length range the performance of the Summilux-M remains unparalleled. Its most distinctive feature was the new screw-mount metal lens hood. Aside from this, the external dimensions of the Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 Asph FLE barely differed from its predecessors.
