Magic in the Moonlight

For the photographer it is the search for beauty that drives his work. Equipped with a Leica M6, he captured model Kirsten Owen in the moonlight in India.
“Light is the most important thing in photography. For this special shot showing the portrait of the young girl with a crown of little white flowers, I worked in the moonlight with the Leica M6 and a Noctilux lens, which I set very open and completely open. The result is that the reflection on the girl's profile is purely due to the moonlight. I love this photo, it's magical for me. A photo that gives you an emotion and touches you somewhere, is a good photo. I took this photo during a trip to India, where I accompanied Italian fashion designer Romeo Gigli with one of his collections. I visited a great variety of places on the east coast, in Madras and Madurai; model Kirsten Owen came with us from Paris. On a fashion assignment, you travel with a team and new situations arise constantly. I never give orders; I give everyone freedom. The model is also free to change her attitude in different ways. Working as a team in this way – art director, model, hairstylist, make-up artist and s tylist – is a wonderful combination of circumstances and chance.”
