Image 2: “This picture represents a balance between structure and spontaneity, the constructed skate park being the stage upon which unpredictable moments unfold. Cycloïde Piazza, located in the Centre Pompidou, was designed for the Paris Olympic Games by Raphaël Zarka.” – Wenpeng Lu
Image 3: “As a photographer, harmonious images with a similar order have a calming effect on me. I noticed this clean composition in a furnishing business. Everything in this picture seems so perfectly organised and neatly arranged – even the colours, lines and structures.” – Shin Seung Hwan
Image 4: “After years of travel I returned to my home-land. Most of my photography of urban America was captured on long bicycle tours. Following years of black and white I returned to Kodachrome. The fallen crepe myrtle blossoms announce the start of the awaited cooler season.” – James Bridges
Image 5: “The urge to visit North Vietnam in winter comes from having lived so long in the oppressive heat of the South. The inspiration for the series March Into Spring came from the stunning landscape, and, specially, the shimmering grass waving in the breeze, the swaying shadows of the trees and the passing mists.” – Tuan Anh Le
Image 6: “I discovered this beautiful old house on my visit to the South Korean harbour city Mokpo. The sight made me feel somewhat melancholic. These days, old things are often replaced by new and larger things. I take photographs so as to immortalise the objects depicted.” – Seok-jin Hyun
Image 7: “This picture is a part of Summer Vibrations, a series I was working on this year. When traversing the Gdynia harbour boardwalk, I saw these boys and a nun gazing at the Baltic Sea over the handrail. The image unites two disparate worlds, triggering a sense of nostalgia.” – Małgorzata Szura Piwnik
Image 8: “I pass this little business every day. The owner happened to be out when a car lost control and crashed into the closed store front. The ambulance and a tow truck had already arrived when I took this shot. You never know what will happen, so I always have my Leica on me.” – TC Lin
