Born in Lima, Peru, in 1974, Saman spent his youth in Barcelona. He studied Communication Sciences and Sociology at the California State University. After graduating, he dedicated himself to photography, and has been a member of Magnum Photos since 2014. Saman has won numerous awards, including the World Press Photo. In 2015 he received the Guggenheim Fellowship for his work covering the Arab Spring.
