Born in Newcastle upon Tyne in England, Micheal Mundy left the north-east of England to study at Norwich College of Art. From there he moved to London to work as a graphic designer and illustrator. Little fulfilled by his work, he soon started concentrating on his own projects, initially using pencil, pen and black crayon. He later turned to photography, where he also works without the use of colour. The Leica M Monochrom allows him to concentrate fully on shapes, textures and his subjects.
