Born in Pordenone, Italy, in 1987. He moved to Los Angeles, in 2008, and began studying at the Brooks Institute of Photography with an emphasis on commercial photography. In 2010, he began working as photo assistant and archivist at David LaChapelle's studio. After achieving his BA with honours, Balsamini returned to Italy in 2011, where he teaches photography at the IUAV University of Venice. His own photographic work deals, in particular, with technology and its social implications – with a focus on work as a factor of human identity. The photographer lives in Venice and is currently represented by the Contrasto Photo Agency.
