The trained printer was born in Radolfzell in 1967. He studied visual communications with an emphasis on photo design in Dortmund. Since 1998, he has been photographing freelance for newspapers and magazines such as Spiegel, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and various commercial enterprises. International projects have taken him, among other places, to Australia, Russia, Indonesia, Japan and the Caribbean.
