Born in Torre del Greco, Italy in 1984, Battiloro studied Philosophy at the University Federico II in Naples. He is a self-taught photographer. His work has been published in magazines such as, LFI (8.2018), Der Spiegel, Die Nacht, Gup and Burn. His series have been exhibited at international festivals such as the Helsinki Photo Festival, Planches Contact, Photo Is:rael and Cortona on the Move. Silence is a Gift is his first book and appeared in March 2024.

Since 2022, the Italian photojournalist has spent any number of weeks in rugged Normandy – both on land and on sea. Equipped with an M6, he took part in the arduous daily life of fishermen, whose existence is defined by the tides, the waves and the wind.
