Right Beside You
LFI Workshop with the German photographer Julia Baier
    on January 30 and 31, 2016, 10 am to 6pm

The theme for this workshop is the immediate, personal surroundings. It challenges us to look very carefully and to find that something special in everyday life: the eye that returns time and again to the sitting room window; portraits of friends and family; life at the small corner kiosk; or the constantly changing light patterns on a ceiling. You don't have to travel far to find good images. Your own microcosm offers enough material for interesting photo projects.

    Preparation
Before the workshop itself, participants are requested to find and photograph their personal theme, within a 200 metre radius of their home. The workshop then offers a platform to edit the pictures and transform them into a functioning series. This can result in a poetic series, social reportages, portrait series – everything goes.
