A prominent protagonist of the international wildlife photography scene, Michael Poliza, is the patron of the 2014 Environmental Photo Festival "horizonte zingst" (horizons zingst). A creator of successful photo books and a travel professional, Poliza is also a WWF Ambassador, making him the perfect representative for the festival's environmental concerns, which are summarised in the motto “be careful” and the appeal to “take care of nature”.
“I feel very honoured to be taking on the patronage of this year's festival,” says Poliza, who will demonstrate his photographic qualities with various presentations during the Environmental Photo Festival.
At the heart of it will be the Nomaden am Feuer – Das Naturvolk der Himba in Namibia (Nomads around the Fire – the Himba people of Namibia) open air exhibition, a twelve metre wide panorama with images of Himba daily life. In addition, Poliza will open up the festival with a multi-media presentation Nature's Beauty and will show highlights of his photography at the Michael Poliza – Photographic Highlights exhibit in the Max Hünten Haus, as well as Grandiose Naturdokumente (Grandiose Nature Documentation).
