The CNN Journalist Award is an award granted by CNN International to foreign newcomer journalists. The award in granted every year for outstanding newcomer journalists' contributions in print, radio, television or on-line.
An expert jury made up of renowned journalists has now voted on the best submissions made by newcomer journalists in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 14 contributions in the categories of TV, radio, print, on-line and photo have been selected. One winner per category will be announced at the Award Ceremony on March 27 in Munich.
Nominees include Birte Kaufmann for her reportage The Travellers and Kai Löffelbein with Der Giftschatz im Inneren des Müllbergs (The poisonous treasure in the heart of the garbage dump) in the photo category. In the on-line category, Christian Werner stands a good chance of winning the award. Kai Löffelbein and Christian Werner have already had reportages in LFI, and Birte Kaufmann is currently travelling in Ireland with a camera on loan from the LFI loan pool.
