Olaf Heine – Brazil

May 27, 2014

An exhibition by Berlin-based artist Olaf Heine will be showing at the city's CWC Gallery from 31 May to 21 June 2014
With his project Brazil, Olaf Heine invites the viewer on an unconventional visual journey, with a chance to discover the host country of the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2014 beyond the usual stereotypes.

Photographed exclusively in black and white, the exhibited works capture Brazil's contrasting nature – reflected in the country's people, landscape and architecture. Heine's subjects range from monumental architectural structures to sensuous portraits and nudes, as well as picturesque landscapes in which the artist manages to capture the country's unique atmosphere and culture.

The book of the same title, published by teNeues, will be introduced at the end May, and is already being hailed as the most high-end photo book on Brazil on the art book market. In addition, Brazil was chosen as the official companion book for the German National Football Team as they participate in the FIFA World Cup. The book launch will take place on 30 May 2014 at the CWC Gallery in Berlin.
