The great “horizons zingst” Environmental Photo Festival welcomes visitors this year from May 28 to June 5, 2016. It is the ninth time that the Baltic Sea spa town of Zingst is hosting the event, with a programme that focusses on outstanding photographic performance, comprehensive exhibitions and encounters with great photographers. The festival deliberately underlines the concept of photography as a medium that supports nature and the preservation of the environment, consequently dealing with some of the biggest and most important issues of our times. Species diversity is one of the main themes. This year's patron is wildlife photographer Michael Poliza.
Within the framework of the Environmental Photo Festival – in addition to the numerous workshops and the photo market on the last week-end of the festival – there will, once again, be a number of impressive open-air exhibitions. In this manner, photographer becomes very conspicuous. Three by three metre installations ensure XXXL format photo displays; but smaller dimension exhibitions will also present impressive photographs in various locations around Zingst.
