Because one of last year’s winners was disallowed because of manipulation, the organization has tightened the guidelines with regard to image processing and subtitles.
Awards will be given to individual pictures and to series in the following categories:
- General News
- Spot News
- Sports
- Contemporary Issues
- Daily Life
- People
- Nature
There are additional awards for long-term projects. Photographers and photographer collectives are invited to submit works that have been created over a period of at least three years.
The winner of the 10,000 euro first prize will be announced on February 18, 2016. The award ceremony will follow in Amsterdam in April.
Further information and the template for submissions can be found at: www.worldpressphoto.org.
