Viviane Sassen

Viviane Sassen is awarded the David Octavius Hill Medal established by the Deutsche Fotografische Akademie. The Dutch photographer also stands to receive the Leinfelden-Echterdingen Art Award 2015.
Sassen will be awarded both honours on 25 April 2015. An exhibition of the photographer's current project – titled Pikin Slee – will be showing at the Altes Rathaus Musberg Gallery, as well as at the Municipal Archive in Leinfelden-Echterdingen from 25 April to 17 May 2015.

Sassen began her career by studying Fashion Design, Art and Photography in Arnhem and Utrecht (NL). From 1992 onwards, she has worked as a photographer specialising in fashion and fine-art photography. As well as being featured in leading magazines, her work has been exhibited in museums around the world, including the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Vienna's Kunsthalle, the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
