This summer, the Jeu de Paume arts centre presents the exhibition ‘The Art of Poise: André Kertész 1912-1982’ at its partner venue, Château de Tours.
André Kertész (born in Budapest in 1894, died 1985 in New York) ranks among the most important photographers of the twentieth century. Over the course of seven decades, he created a prolific oeuvre of poetic and modernist photography. ‘The Art of Poise’ retraces Kertész’s remarkable career – from his earliest Hungarian photographs to the blossoming of his talent in France, and from his New York years to his international breakthrough.
