Pirelli Calendar

Since its first publication in 1964, the Pirelli Calendar has become legendary. Each year, it is sent out exclusively to selected clients and VIPs. Throughout its history, the calendar has featured the world's most acclaimed models such as Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Laetitia Casta, Cindy Crawford, Penélope Cruz, Milla Jovovich, Heidi Klum, Angela Lindvall, Sophia Loren and Kate Moss.


To mark the calendar's 50th anniversary, Taschen Publishers present a volume containing the reprints of all calendars to date, photographed by Richard Avedon, Peter Beard, Patrick Demarchelier, Nick Knight, Karl Lagerfeld, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Annie Leibovitz, Peter Lindbergh, Sarah Moon, Terry Richardson, Herb Ritts, Mario Sorrenti, Bert Stern, Mario Testino and Bruce Weber, among others.

In addition, the book includes unseen behind-the-scenes images from the photo sessions, as well as the unpublished calendar from 1963 and a selection of 'censored' pictures deemed too risqué by the editors of the time. With an introduction by Philippe Daverio, and an interview with art directors Derek Forsyth and Martyn Walsh.
