PhotoBrussels: Open Call with Leica

The Hangar Photo Art Center (organiser of the PhotoBrussels Festival) has teamed up with the ‘Coup de coeur Leica’ initiative to launch an Open Call with the heading, ‘The World Within’.

Photographers are invited to shine a new light on the experience of confinement, and explore the power of inner resources – such as creativity, love, empathy, humour or inspiration drawn from nature – in extraordinary situations such as the Covid-19 lockdown. The submitted works will be assessed by a jury of industry experts, one of them being Gaëlle Gouinguené, Leica France.

The contest is designed to support photographers confined in Europe. A total sum of € 30,000 will be divided among the selected artists. In addition, the winner of the ‘Coup de coeur Leica’ stands to receive a Leica Q2, worth € 4,990.

The best entries will be showcased at the fifth edition of PhotoBrussels from November 20 to December 20, 2020.
