This year, Paris Photo (10–13 November) celebrates its 20th anniversary. It is also the 10th time Leica have participated in the event with an extensive culture programme.
For the first time, Leica will present the winning series of the Leica Oskar Barnack Award 2016 at the Paris Photo fair, following the awards ceremony in September. The programme also includes a book-signing with photographer Fred Mortagne on 12 November, starting at 15.00 at the Leica stand. Mortagne will present his book Attraper au vol (Catch in Flight) published by Um Yeah Press, featuring a selection of his skating photographs from 2000 to 2015.
Having developed the camera of the Huawei P9, Leica are also represented in the Huawei #OO Gallery. The exhibition aims to highlight the increasing relevance of Smartphone photography, even on the art market. Photographers Stéphane Lavoué and Hassan Hajjaj were commissioned by the Chinese manufacturer to create two series – Monochrome and Documenting Dream – to be displayed at the #OO Gallery.
