All that is True is Beautiful

Galerie Folia in Paris presents the showcase ‘Tout ce qui est vrai est beau’ with works by Jan Groover. The exhibition is on display from September 9 to October 24, 2020.

‘Tout ce qui est vrai est beau’ (All that is True is Beautiful) opens at the Folia Gallery in Paris on September 8, 2020, with an evening reception starting at 18.30. The showcase of 25 images marks the first exhibition of Jan Groover’s work in a French venue in 25 years.

The American artist (1954–2012) started out as a painter, but turned her focus to photography in the early 1970s – driven by the ambition to entirely re-invent the medium. Characterised by a decidedly avant-garde approach, her famous images transform the mundane into the surreal, and imbue familiar forms with new meanings – thereby encouraging audiences to develop a more poetic view of the world around us.
