Share:

The nine finalists for the n-ost Reportage Award 2016 have been announced – the shortlist was compiled from a pool of 152 entries in the categories of Text, Radio and Photo Reportage.

In the Photo Reportage category, the jury nominated Niels Ackermann ('Julia, or A Ukraine Adolescence', published in Das Magazin on 16.05.2015), Emile Ducke ('Transnistria', FOG Magazine, 20.06.15) and Pepa Hristova ('The Bartered Bride', a.o. published under the title 'Brautschau' in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, 17.10.2015).

With the n-ost Reportage Prize, the Network for Reporting on Eastern Europe will for the tenth time honour journalists whose work conveys extraordinary in-depth stories from Eastern Europe – vibrant and beyond familiar cliches. The award is given out in the categories of Text, Radio and Photo Reportage, with one winner in each category receiving 2,000 euros.

This year's winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday, 23 June 2016. The evening event at the Green Salon of the Volksbühne Berlin includes readings of the nominated text reportages to the assembled guests, along with excerpts from the shortlisted radio features and a presentation of the selected photo-series.
