photographers in 112 countries. A jury of international photography experts chose to recognize these photographers for their brilliant range of creativity, photographic expertise, fluency in the visual medium, and abilities to tell captivating stories in compelling ways.
Each of the eight jury members, Todd Hido, San Francisco based photographer, Sacha Lecca, Deputy Photo Editor for Rolling Stone Magazine and Jennifer Blessing, Senior Curator of Photography for the Guggenheim among them, selected one photographer to be awarded special distinction with a cash grant. The jurors also included a brief quote explaining what they especially appreciated about these photographers and their work.
LensCulture Emerging Talents Awards 2015 was the 3rd annual call to discover the world's best emerging photographers and awarded $20,000 in cash grants, an exhibition in San Francisco, projections at photo festivals worldwide, as well as career exchanging exposure to our global audience of over 1.4 million. Over a dozen top photo editors, portfolio reviewers, curators, and other industry professionals were recruited to give each entrant the opportunity for free constructive feedback on their submissions, as well as recommendations for improving their practice.
