Leica Camera and Panasonic are expanding their collaboration within the context of the L-Mount Alliance. As the companies announced in Wetzlar on May 31, the partners will bundle their core competencies in order to develop new technologies and solutions under the shared name of ‘L² Technology’ (L squared Technology). The term, which references the first letters of ‘Leica’ and ‘Lumix’, symbolises “a new era of creativity for future camera and lens products and next-generation software.”

With this alliance, Leica’s long-standing experience in the field of optical and imaging technology enters into an exciting synergy with Panasonic’s expertise in video and digital technology – enabling the joint development of innovative solutions for a new world of creative imaging.
