January 10, 2016

On January 29, the Priska Pasquer Gallery in Cologne is launching 'Kin', an exhibition of works by Pieter Hugo.
Kin, an exhibition of photographs by Pieter Hugo, will be on display at the Priska Pasquer Gallery in Cologne, from January 30 to April 9, 2016. Hugo became world renowned within a few years because of his impressive portraits from Africa.

Complex reality in the images
With his most recent series, Kin, which was on display at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson in Paris last Spring, Hugo concentrates first of all on his personal experiences in his homeland, South Africa. With intense portraits and landscape images he captures the complex reality of a country that, as a result of past colonisation, is marked by political, economical, cultural and racist tensions and contradictions.
