Evelyn Hofer: Encounters

August 12, 2020

The Fotostiftung Schweiz foundation in Winterthur (CH) presents a comprehensive showcase of works by Evelyn Hofer. The exhibition continues until August 30, 2020.
Under the title of ‘Encounters’, Fotostiftung Schweiz in Winterthur presents a diverse selection of works by Evelyn Hofer (1922 – 2009). From explorations of American cities to social studies of a Welsh village, from visits to artists’ studios to portraits of people from the Val Bregaglia: in her lifetime, the German-American photographer created a visual kaleidoscope that spans almost half a century.

On Sunday, August 16 at 11.30 a.m. the venue offers a guided tour of the exhibition, which will be jointly led by the show’s curator, Madleina Deplazes, and Beat Wismer (former Director of the Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau, and Director General of the Museum Kunstpalast in Dusseldorf), who has previously curated two exhibitions on Evelyn Hofer’s oeuvre.
