Clémentine Schneidermann in Sète

September 11, 2020

The exhibition ‘Sète #20’ by Clémentine Schneidermann is on display at the Quartier Haut Chapel in Sète, Southern France, from September 12 to October 11, 2020.
From September 12 to October 11, 2020, the Quartier Haut Chapel in Sète presents the exhibition ‘Sète #20’ with works by Clémentine Schneidermann. Every year, the CéTàVOIR Association choses one artist-in-residence as part of the ImageSingulières Festival, who is invited to portray the Southern-French town of Sète from a fresh perspective. When Clémentine Schneidermann was selected for the 2020 residency, she immersed herself in the city and its surrounding region – capturing her impressions in sensitive, highly individual images. The French photographer (b. 1991) has previously been honoured with the LOBA Newcomer Award 2016 for her series ‘The Unbearable, the Sadness and the Rest’.

Traditionally, the results of the artist’s residency are showcased at the ImageSingulières Festival. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic the 12th edition of the festival (scheduled for spring 2020) had to be cancelled, causing the exhibition to be postponed until now.
