The Contemporary Fine Arts Gallery in Berlin marks the ocassion of F.C. Gundlach’s 90th birthday with the exhibition 90 Years, 90 Photos, continuing until 10 September 2016. What particularly sets the show apart is the fact that the 90 works presented in the gallery have been selected by the renowned Leica photographer himself. The result is a comprehensive overview of Grundlach’s oeuvre with all its different styles and thematic shifts.
LFI 5/2016 features a tribute to the photographer, who was among the first to incorporate a 35mm Leica into fashion photography. In this genre, Gundlach captured the developments from the post-war era to the rise of the mini-skirt, while also establishing himself as a renowned portrait and reportage photographer.
