A solo exhibition of works by the Canadian photographer, Robert Polidori (*1951), remains on display at the Camera Work Gallery in Berlin up until April 18. With over 20 large-format images from various series, the exhibition is exclusively dedicated to works never shown before now.

At the centre of the exhibition is Polidori's comprehensive documentation of the reconstruction and restoration of Versailles Castle, which he followed for over 25 years. The magnificent rooms offer the viewer a glimpse into the history of the castle, that has been so carefully preserved. At the same time, the images connect the past to the present and give new life to the glamorous aesthetics of this richly decorated yet long gone world. This point of intersection between old and new is also the Leitmotiv in Polidari's work.
