Leica returns to Arles

July 9, 2015

The award ceremony for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award is one of the highlights of the Rencontres d’Arles Photo Festival.
As in previous years, Leica Camera AG and LFI will be represented at the Rencontres d’Arles Photo Festival from June 6 to September 20, 2015.

Leica will be presenting pictures by the photographer JH Engström at the Espace van Gogh. With his photographic narrative, Tout Va Bien, Engström has won the 2015 Leica Oskar Barnack Award. Wiktoria Wojciechowska’s Short Flashes series will also be on display. Her images of cyclists riding in the constant rain earned Wojciechowska the Newcomer Award.

The official presentation of the finalists took place on July 8 at 10 pm. Within the framework of the Night of Photography, all the pictures taken by the finalists and winners have been part of a slide show at the Théatre Antique. On the same evening, the LFI Leica Oskar Barnack Award Special Edition has been made public. It can be ordered immediately at: LFI Shop.

On July 9, you are welcome to chat with JH Engström about his series on Twitter. The Twitter Live Chat will take place from 15:00 to 16:00. Ask your questions directly to @leica_camera and include #LeicaChat in your tweet to take part in the chat.

Other Leica Camera AG points on the programme include a Street Portrait workshop and a video interview training with Amedeo Turello, and autograph sessions with JH Engström and François Fontaine.
