    LFI Magazine 08/2016

    • LOBA 2016: Scarlett Coten and Clémentine Schneidermann are the winners of the 2016 Leica Oskar Barnack Award and Newcomer Award. An overview of all the finalists.

Portfolio: Buena Vista. New York photographer Susan S. Bank visited Cuba any times between 1999 and 2009. The black and white pictures she took in Havana are captivating.

Reportage: The Swiss-Brazilian photographer Dom Smaz visited the former colonial settlement of Helvécia – Portuguese for Switzerland – in his mother’s homeland.

Leica World: SL Adapter. The SL is the most versatile camera in the Leica programme: in addition to its own, it can make use of M, S and R lenses, as well as cinema lenses by CW Sonderoptic.

Feature: Last Paradise. Using materials that are hard to recycle, Ekaterina Sevrouk took fashion-like photographs in Berlin.

Leica Classics: The Gentle Critic. He had to convince himself to make a career out of photography – a career that lasted over six decades. Now Marc Riboud has passed away, aged 93.

Project: Hunter and landscape photographer Armin Floreth, pursues his passion at dawn and in the evening twilight.
