Answer: Yes. The LFI Gallery is a free LFI service, offering you the opportunity to present your photos online. You can register, administer the photographs in your albums, or submit your pictures for the Master Shots. You can read how it's done here in the FAQ.
Answer: No! As stated in the Terms and Conditions we have developed, all rights remain with the creator of the works, who simply gives us permission to use them within the framework of the LFI Gallery – in other words, we are permitted to show them on the LFI Gallery pages. As always, you can sell, print, change, etc., your pictures. You can not, however, grant exclusive use to a third party. We will not pass photos on to third parties without a specific, written agreement. A “temporarily unrestricted right to reproduce, distribute and showcase” means that the pages can be accessed repeatedly all around the world: in legal jargon, opening a page is considered a duplication of the content. You can delete your photos from our servers at any time.
Answer: You'll find any news item about the Gallery in the LFI Newsletter. Please click here to sign up.

Please look in your spam file. If you don't find it there or you have other problems when trying to log in, please contact the site administrator at: gallery(at)lfi-online.de.
IMPORTANT: To be able to log in your browser must allow Cookies. The Cookies should not be deleted if you want to use the “Always stay logged in” option.
Answer: Use the “Forgotten Password” button on the log-in page, and write in the email address you used to register. Your user name and a new password will be sent to you by email. If for some reason you don't receive an email, please get in touch with the site administrator at: gallery(at)lfi-online.de and ask for a new password.
Answer: Log in, then click on “My Gallery” and afterwards on “Profile”, where you'll find the “Change my Password” option. Write in your old password and then the new one you wish to use.

Answer: With the exception of the Inbox, all your albums are accessible to visitors to the LFI Gallery. Your user profile and the Inbox can only be seen by you and by the site administrator. We will not pass on any personal information to third parties.
Answer: You have 300 000kB of space at your disposal. Have fun!
ALBEN UND BILDER
Answer: You have to be a registered user to be able to upload a picture. Click on “upload” in the menu. Use your mouse to drag & drop up to ten pictures into the template supplied or select them using the “Choose Pictures” button. The pictures will then be uploaded. Pictures can't be larger than 3MB.
On the following pages you can then choose picture titles, descriptions and key words. One same picture can be sorted into an album, and you can also propose it for the Master Shots. Within 24 hours the site administrator will make it accessible. If you don't choose an album for the picture, you will find it in the Inbox.
Answer: The Inbox is your personal space: it is an album that other LFI Gallery users can't look into. This is where you find the pictures that have not yet been assigned to an album. If you submit a picture for the Masters Shots but it does not get selected, you will also find it in the Inbox.
Answer: Go to the LFI Gallery menu and choose “My Albums”. You can add a new album by clicking on the plus sign in the list of albums.
Answer: If you want to edit an album, click on it in the list of albums. The “Edit Album” button will then appear. Using this button you can edit the album's title, change descriptions and key words, choose a title picture or even delete the album. After you've edited, make sure to save your changes.
Answer: You can work on the picture using the pen icon. You will find it in the picture overview by moving the mouse over the picture, and then it will appear at the lower edge of the image. Alternately, you can find the pen icon in the “Picture Info” option of the individual picture overview. Then you can change the picture title, description and key words, delete the picture from the album or move the picture to another album. Make sure to save any changes.
Answer: In the picture overview, move the mouse over the surface of the picture. In the top right-hand corner of the picture a cross to shift it will appear. This is where you can “capture” the picture with the mouse (click and hold the mouse button down). Then you can pull the picture into the desired album in the list of albums. The picture will then be located in both albums.
Alternately, you can use the pen icon (see previous “How can I edit a picture” question) to go to the picture editing level, where you can choose an album on the dropdown menu.
Answer: If you go to the picture overview and move the mouse over the surface of the picture, you will see an X appear in the bottom right-hand corner of the picture. This is where you can delete a picture from your album and from the Inbox.
Answer: Select the album where you want to rearrange your pictures. Then you can “capture” any picture you like with the mouse (click and hold the mouse button down) and move it to whatever position you want.
Answer: At the picture editing level (see “How can I edit a picture” question) there is a dropdown menu where you can select the camera model and submit the picture to the Master Shots. The picture will then be evaluated by a jury, who will either allocate it to the Master Shots or will move it into your Inbox.
IMPORTANT: The picture's Exif data must be included. You can find more detailed information about the Master Shots here.
Answer: Only pictures with a maximum of 3MB will be accepted. Larger images will not be uploaded. Problems can also arise if you're using other than JPEG data format. In this case, simply save the picture as a JPEG and try uploading it again. It can be that the upload was successful, but you have to wait till the site administrator has cleared it. If none of these points apply or you are unsure, you are welcome to contact the site administrator at: gallery(at)lfi-online.de
Answer: Our server accepts JPEG data best of all, so simply store your pictures as a JPEG and then upload them. Please do not use JPEG 2000, as this format can lead to problems in the presentation.
Answer: Whether a scanned image or a picture imported from a digital camera, you will surely need to reduce it in size. The server can only upload pictures with a maximum size of 3 MB. It is also worth choosing a somewhat lower quality to make better use of your storage space on the server.
Answer: You can find all the pictures you have uploaded at “My Gallery”, as soon as they have been cleared by the site administrator.
Answer: The Master Shots is a platform for the LFI Gallery's crème de la crème. You might also be able to take part: when you upload a picture, click on “submit to Master Shots” and choose the camera model you used to take the picture.
If you want to submit a picture to the Master Shots that you've already uploaded previously, please go to the picture's editing level (see “How can I edit a picture” question). Here you'll find a dropdown menu where you can choose the camera model and submit the picture to the Master Shots. The picture is then evaluated by a jury and either placed in the Master Shots or moved into your Inbox.
IMPORTANT: The picture's Exif data must be included? You can find more detailed information about the Master Shots here.
Answer: The LFI editorial staff select a Picture of the Week from among all the pictures uploaded. The Picture of the Week is not necessarily a currently uploaded one, and can be chosen from a photographer's personal album or from among the Master Shots.
Answer: No, because the choice of pictures in each category is made by the LFI editorial staff. The LFI editorial staff choose the best and most representative pictures from photographers' personal albums and from among the Master Shots and organizes them into categories. It can happen that a picture is overlooked; and if you think that one of your pictures could belong in a certain category, you are welcome to suggest it by email to: gallery(at)lfi-online.de. Even so, we can give no guarantee that it will be placed in a category.
Answer: From time to time, the LFI Gallery launches a competition. Current competitions are labelled accordingly and offer the opportunity to upload pictures.
Answer: During the relaunch period we have to deactivate this menu point for a few weeks. Quite soon you'll be able to access a much improved “Favourites” function, and once again access the favourites images you had already saved.
