It was a catastrophe of unprecedented proportions. The nuclear accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in April 1986 resulted in the release of radioactive substances in the surrounding area, which are still detectable today. For his project, photographer Marco Cortesi went on a journey to the site of the disaster.
