Look Both Ways
    LFI Workshop with the London photographer Matt Stuart
    from March 11 till 13, 2016

    The streets of the city: This is where Matt Stuart is in his element, always on the lookout for the right moment. He prowls around and waits patiently, emerges from undercover and pulls out his camera. He doesn't give up until his prey is in the bag – great pictures packed with good humour. During the workshop in Hamburg, Matt will take the twelve participants on a picture hunt. Street photography – tips and tricks included. Afterwards, the group will edit and discuss the resulting series.

    Artist Talk with the photographer – all workshop participants are welcome!

    Friday, March 11, 2016, 18.00–21.00
    Get to know each other. Participants are each asked to bring ten of their pictures (digital). Matt will also talk about his work, sharing the first tips and tricks

    Saturday, March 12, 2016, 10.00–17.00
    Morning: Out and about in Hamburg with the camera. Title of the exercise Waiting and Walking
    Lunch break
    Afternoon: Edit and discussion about the work done in the morning

    Sunday, March 13, 2016, 10.00–16.00
    Morning: Further practical exercises, deepening what has been learnt so far
    Lunch break
    Afternoon: Edit and final discussion

    About the photographer

    Born in 1974, Matt Stuart grew up in Harrow, a district in north-west London. After three years working as a photography assistant, Stuart turned his hobby into his profession. Since 1996, the photographer is constantly on the move on the streets of London, looking to capture bizarre moments but also the curiosities of every day life. Among other locations, his pictures have been exhibited at the Leica Store in Los Angeles. Stuart is a member of the international street photographer collective iN-PUBLIC.
