Izabela Urbaniak from Łódź, Poland, came second with her picture 'ploteczki' (schmooze). The picture, with its many reflections, reveals an uncanny depth, closeness and warmth, so that even an outsider can feel part of the situation.
CEWE, the largest photo service provider and partner to Experiential Photography Zingst, set up the international photography competition Europe is Beautiful to document its understanding of Europe. The competition's theme was Life in Europe. From July 18 until the end of September, the winning pictures will be exhibited at the Kunsthallenhotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Zingst.
The jury
This year's jury was made up of Jennifer Brück of the magazine stern, Thorsten Langemeier of Getty Images, Martin Hülle, freelance photographer, author and blogger, Wolfgang Heinen of PHOTO PRESSE, Hergen Griesbach, CEWE photographer, Jörg Uhlenbrock, head of photo culture marketing at CEWE and Dr. Rolf Hollander, Chairman of the Board of the Neumüller CEWE COLOR Foundation and also the competition's curator.
