The exhibition aims to illustrate the increasingly rich diversity of religious practises and beliefs that exists in the US today. Although most of the country is dominated by traditional religious communities, we are witnessing the emergence of a new concept – whereby each individual is indeed free to define their own religious identity.
The controversial title references the current situation in America – a country which no longer is One Nation presided over by One God. The phrase "In God We Trust" represents both a sincere declaration of faith, and an assertion of the right to freely choose one's religion – whichever form it takes.
The exhibition includes the work of artists such as Edgar Arceneaux, Anthony Goicolea, Guerra De La Paz (Alain Guerra and Neraldo de la Paz), Karl Haendel, Christian Jankowski, David LaChapelle, Nate Lowman, Joanna Malinowska and Gianni Motti.
