Even the original Leica X2 is considered a camera for individualists, making the new 'X à la carte' programme a most fitting idea. Customers can select from three choices of colour for the camera body, ten styles of real-leather trim, and a variety of accessories such as carrier straps and protectors made from the same leather. A personal engraving on the camera body is also part of the offer, if required. Orders can be placed in any Leica Store or Leica Boutique, where swatches of the trims etc. will of course be displayed. The camera will then be made based on the customer’s individual specifications. The 'X à la carte menu' will launch at the end of October, and Leica are intending to make the option of personalised cameras a permanent feature in the services they offer.
A detailed description of the new 'X à la carte menu' programme can be found in the current issue of LFI (7/2012), which is also available for download in the LFI app.
