The winning images of the World Press Photo contest will be displayed at the Oude Kerk parish church in Amsterdam from 26 April to 23 June 2013.
Each year, photographers from around the world submit their images for the award, which is divided into nine categories and presided over by an international jury. The winners of World Press Photo 2012 were announced in February, and are now displayed in a world-wide touring exhibition. As well as hosting the exhibition, Amsterdam will also be the venue for the official awards ceremony from 25 to 27 April.
Selected from over 100,000 submissions, the honour of World Press Photo of the Year 2012 was awarded to Swedish photographer Paul Hansen for his image of the funeral of two young children in Gaza City, who had lost their lives in an Israeli air raid.
