The Fotostiftung Schweiz is putting a first part of its collection online
The Fotostiftung Schweiz's online collection is now accessible to the general public at E-Pics. In addition to numerous individual pictures, the digitalized photographs primarily include large portfolios of important Swiss photographers, who archives are looked after by the photo foundation. This first step is presenting over 10,000 pictures online. Accessible through the internet, this inventory will be expanding successively.

The Fotostiftung Schweiz has the goal of making its collection as widely accessible to the general public as possible; on the one hand, to foster an awareness for the meaning of photography as a cultural asset, on the other, to grant contemporary usage to historic pictures.

In a joint project with the ETH-Bibliothek in Zurich, it was possible to develop an interface tailored to the photo foundation's needs for cataloguing, presentation and usage of photographs. At E-Pics it is now possible to research and order online photographs belonging to the Fotostiftung Schweiz.
