Handmade II

September 7, 2014

The group exhibition 'Handmade II' is showing at the Anzenberger Gallery in Vienna until 2 November.
This second edition of the exhibition Handmade transcends the boundaries of conventional, two-dimensional photography by connecting handicraft with the medium of photography.

Using different methods, the exhibiting photographers have created tactile, handmade artworks that represent a counter-position to today's predominantly digital, and hence untouchable photography.

Sissi Farassat, for example, embellishes her prints with Swarovski crystals, while Diane Meyer embroiders onto photographs of the Berlin Wall. Christopher Mavric develops analogue photographs onto vinyl records, Heather Wetzel does the same onto can lids.

The participating artists include, among others: Stella Bach, Zachary Burns, Simone Casetta, Cristina DeMiddel, Sissi Farassat, Letitia Huckaby, Christopher Mavric, Rob McDonald, Diane Meyer, Regina Anzenberger, Minyó Szert, Heather F. Wetzel, Sergiy Lebedynsky, Eldar Zeytullaev, Vlad Krasnoshchok, Gerhard Trumler, Birgit Zartl.
