On 23 November 2013, WestLicht Auction House in Vienna will once again be offering historical cameras to the highest bidder. The catalogue includes several Leica models – such as a Leica I Mod. C Luxus with gold plated metal parts and a lizard skin body. Only 95 'Luxus' models were produced from 1929 to 1931 – the historical rarity is estimated to be worth 150,000 to 200,000 euros.
A further highlight is a presentation model of the Leica IIIf, serial number 500.000. Produced for Ernst Leitz II, the camera has previously been exhibited at the Leitz Museum. Estimated value: 200,000 to 250,000 euros.
With the Leica M3 Chrom No. 1.000.000, WestLicht are offering a chance to own a 'One Millionth Leica' – yours for approximately 400,000 to 500,000 euros.
The complete catalogue will be available online from mid-October, with many more exciting highlights.
