This weekend: 24th WestLicht Camera Auction and 9th WestLicht Photography Auction
From Louis Daguerre to contemporary photography

The 9th WestLicht Photography Auction is set to feature a particularly high-end selection of works. Among the highlights is the daguerreotype Portrait of Dorothée Léocardie Cotte, photographed by Louis Daguerre himself in 1844. The catalogue also features images by Marc Riboud, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Eisenstaedt and André Kertész.

The auction takes place on Friday 22 November 2013 at 18.00. Auction preview: open daily from 14.00-18.00 until 22 November.

One Millionth Leica

Once again, the highlights of the Camera Auction will be courtesy of Leica. To celebrate the company's 100th anniversary, two models featuring notable serial numbers are to be sold to the highest bidder. The One Millionth Leica – an M3 chrome, serial number 1,000,000 (made in 1960) – has been valued at 400,000 - 500,000 euros. The Leica IIIf, serial number 500,000 (made in 1950) has been valued at 200,000 - 250,000 euros.

The auction takes place on Saturday 23 November 2013 at 11.00. Auction preview open on 21 and 22 November from 10.00 - 18.00, and on 23 November from 9.00 - 11.00.
