The exhibition
Max Lohr –
A Pioneer of Photographic Art. Early Photographs 1926–1931 opens at the City Museum of Weilheim (Upper Bavaria) on 30 August, continuing until 5 October.
Max Lohr (1909–1992) was one of the early pioneers of photographic art. For a long time, his purist yet experimental works were lost to obscurity – today however, they are sought-after rarities at auction markets.
The engineer and photographer lived in Weilheim (Bavaria) from 1937 until his death in 1992. In the years from 1928 to 1931, he created a large number or remarkable photographs, which are now presented in an exhibition for the first time.
