Opening a box of treasure

Share:

From 6th September to 2nd November 2012, the 'Galerie Hilaneh von Kories' in Hamburg is hosting an exhibition of photographs by Walde Huth. The title is "Strict. Sensitive. Playful. Walde Huth. Photographs 1941 – 1965". The Köln based photographer (1923-2011) is best known for her fashion photography of the Fifties. But the exhibition in Hamburg now also offers a look at rarely seen vintage images from Huth's private archives – a look into the artist's personal box of treasures. Amongst the photographs are numerous portraits, including of the author Ernst Jünger, who was a close friend.

Walde Huth studied photography at the State School of Applied Arts in Weimar. Her work has always been distinguished by her consistently perfect compositions, as visitors of the exhibition will undoubtedly discover.
